Finding a lasting community at Hills begins with Rooted.

Rooted is a 10-week small group experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose. Together, in a group of 8-12 people from all walks of life, you’ll explore the Bible, engage in prayer and serve experiences, share stories, and practice rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. These spiritual rhythms aren’t new, or something the church recently created, every one of them is found in Acts 2 where the early church began. We will provide you with a facilitator who is trained to come alongside your group to help you get the most out of the experience.

FAQs

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship program and a catalyst for life-change. It provokes questions and conversations and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story.
Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on the link in Groups to register. While Rooted registration is FREE, each participant is responsible for purchasing the workbook. Once you are registered, you will receive a confirmation email with information on next steps.
All of our Rooted groups meet every Sunday on-campus in the multi-purpose room located in Building B.
Childcare is available for children 0 yrs. - 5th grade, through our normal Sunday Kidmin experiences.
If you miss Week One, your leader will be in contact with you, and you can still join your group. For the best Rooted experience, we recommend not missing more than 2 weeks. If your schedule requires you to miss more than two, feel free to jump in when the next Rooted session starts.
We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.
Our Rooted Team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 8-12 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who register. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. We will do our best to honor requests of all friends or leaders.
Yes, Rooted is an adult-only curriculum (18+ years).

Rooted is the on-ramp to Groups. Your Rooted Group, at the end of the 10 weeks, can become your Small Group, and so we strongly advise that you go through Rooted before joining an open Group.
Once you are registered, you will receive your Rooted Materials during Week One.
